- Those who use portable oxygen devices
- Those with Class III or Class IV cardiac conditions
- Those whose ability to walk is impeded by arthritic, neurological, or orthopedic conditions
- Those in loco parentis of the people with the above conditions
- Those with parental (birth or adopted) custody of a child with the above conditions
- The spouse of a person with the above conditions.
What are the types of tags that I can get?
There are a few different types of handicap tags that can be acquired in the state of PA. These include:
- Disability parking placards and license plates — for any vehicle being operated for the use of a person with a disability. For parents and guardians of children under 18, you must be listed as the vehicle registrant to obtain these tags.
- Those with any percentage of service disability can be issued Disabled Veteran registration plates.
- Those with a 100% disability related to being in the service can obtain Severely Disabled Veteran plates — certified by a Veterans Administration regional office administrator (Philadelphia or Pittsburgh) or the service unit in which the veteran served.
